REFLECTION

High school life is going to end and soon will be starting a new steps of education.  I am so excited to leave for college and going to the real world.  But inside me it’s so hard to leave because I will surely miss my friends and my classmates who have been a part of me for four years.

There’s nothing I should do but to accept it that soon will be leaving our Alma mater.  It sad to say goodbye but we need to face the world with a big hello for our future.  We need to decide what will be going to take for our future plans.

Going to College is my biggest fear on how to adjust to this new environment.  I know it will not be easy for me but I need to do it by my own in order to pursue and finish my college.  I have many dreams and plans in life that I need to accomplish. This is it we need to focus, this is just only the beginning and soon will be a successful person in the future.

My DREAM My FUTURE

A person needs to achieve certain goals in one’s life before you can call them successful. Success is to achieve goals, you have set.

I am Regine Marie Ramos, 16 years of age. It is hard to imagine where I am going to be in next ten years of my life. Succeeding high school, I am going to take up Bachelor of Science in Psychology and I will definitely need to continue my education at the graduate level in order to earn my Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology. Although the reality scares me, I am looking forward to what the future has in store for me.

I will try my best to do my dream job in the future, and if I fail or I have problems with my studies. I will keep on dreaming to overcome the problem and keep believing so I will have a good life in the future.

CHANGE: It starts with me

As the saying goes “nothing in this world is permanent except for change”.
I do believe that change coming from within oneself is really more meaningful and worth rewarding. Just like for example my younger sister committed something against us, tendency is that we feel bad and angry but if we mean change we are willing to accept their faults & forgive them for their wrong doing so that’s change.

A change not only coming from within but more so with the heart.

Insight: YLOCOS KANNAWIDAN FESTIVAL

The province of Ilocos Sur is where the Ilocos Region’s myriad of cultures and histories converge to become a living museum of spirited past. A national shrine, a national landmark, a national museum, heritage museums, ancestral houses, period houses, cobblestoned streets – they all share space in the timeless land of Ilocos Sur.

The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival had already established its identity as the prime festival of the province. The festival was launched in 2008 under the leadership of Governor Deogracias Victor B. Savellano to commemorate the foundation day of Ilocos Sur as separate province through the approval of a Spanish Royal Decree on February 2, 1818. The province has a rich heritage and unique cultures that need to be preserved for the next generations. However, many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano cultures were not already familiar to the younger generations due to the influence of technology.

These include traditional tribal rituals and choir competition, marching band contest, traditional music ensemble, dance drama and many more. These events aimed to encourage young Ilocanos to learn these indigenous songs and dances for sustainability and preservation. Let us all preserve these cultures for the next generations and this will serve as our trademark as an Ilocano.
